This photo has impacted me because, although people love to debate the severity of January 6, they can’t argue with a photo. I think this photo shows the insanity of the day and the long-lasting impact it has had on the United States.
I first saw this photo in media ethics and was shocked by its rawness and how it captures a horrifying moment, where even without context, you can see the fear and evil of what had occurred.
I like this photo because I think it perfectly captures the craziness of COVID. The masks, the plastic, and the fact that these people are elderly, and the disease was especially dangerous for them. I think it also beautifully captures how we creatively still showed love and care.
